Controller

Continental United States

Company Overview:
We are a multi-state construction company with projects stretching from Saipan in the Pacific Ocean to Puerto Rico in the Atlantic Ocean. The company is involved in Commercial Roofing, GC and Industrial services and specializes in federal government contracts.  We are seeking a Controller to join our management team in Kelso Washington and play a vital role in our financial operations.

Job Description:
As Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company. This key role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting and finance, construction job costing, tax and other reporting in multiple states, overseeing financial reporting of multiple joint ventures, as well as strong analytical and communication skills as you lead a current staff of 5. 

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and oversee timely and accurate financial reporting.
Present financial data to owners and provide insights into financial performance.

Be the financial contact for banking and surety questions.  

Cost Control:
Maintain a cost control system to track project costs, monitor budget variances, and recommend cost saving measures.
Monitor cash flow, ensuring the company has sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to optimize cash flow.

Monitor crew travel expenses.

Compliance and Taxation:
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including tax compliance for all states and US territories operated in.

Ensure wages are properly paid using Prevailing Wage and Davis Bacon guidelines.  
Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals to complete financial statement reviews and tax filings for the owners and the company.

Ensure all government websites are updated with current company information.

Qualifications:
Several years of progressive experience in construction accounting and finance.
CPA, CMA, MBA preferred.
Proficiency in Trible Spectrum software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Proven leadership experience in a financial role.

Apprentice Roofer

Our Superintendents are our management staff with the most connection to the actual construction activities that are occurring on the jobsite. Consequently, a Superintendent’s roles and responsibilities are largely associated with ensuring that the project runs as smoothly as possible and that all issues are quickly and efficiently dealt with. The Superintendent will report to their direct supervisor, the Project Manager, and will ensure that the Project Manager is kept apprised of all issues, both positive and negative that are occurring on the project. This will require extensive interaction and planning that involves all subcontractors, consultants, Pacific Tech employees and any other personnel that are under Pacific Tech’s management.
